The focus for P.E. will be teaching students how being fit mentally (attitude), physically (body) and spiritually (relationship with God) are all interrelated to produce overall health. The Bible states, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” Deut. 6:5, “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. 1 Tim. 4:8.
The P.E. class will emphasize this concept of overall fitness through fun games, the introduction of organized sports and participation in the Presidents Challenge. Whether in sports competition, health instruction, or Presidents Challenge Fitness Training, our goal is to help your child increase their dependence on the Lord as they pursue the goal of becoming physically fit. “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Phil. 4:13
Physical Education incorporates fun and interesting activities to encourage and reinforce physical fitness and wellbeing. Team sports will be introduced with the skills and rules that are taught and practiced. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in the President’s Physical Fitness Challenge. At the End of the Year Ceremony, 2nd through 8th grade students will be presented with an award for the level they have attained in the President’s Challenge.
